Around here it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. On Friday the boys and I started decorating the tree before the husband got home. Brady helped me with the lights and then all three of us hung ornaments. We saved some for Daddy though and he joined in when he got home from work. We wrapped up decorating with a viewing of Frosty the Snowman.
Sunday morning was our church’s Breakfast with Santa. Instead of being in a cramped room in the basement of the friary this year it was held in the newly renovated auditorium. Santa was set up on the stage in a big leather chair with a Christmas tree, there were plenty of pancakes to go around, and craft tables set up for the kids. So much fun.
Then in the afternoon we finally took a trip up to the shopping center in Harlem. There is an awesome Target. We got some lunch and then did a little shopping. In the toy section I spied the only thing that Brady wants for Christmas–one of the new Ninjago sets. They weren’t supposed to be out until next year and yet there they were. I quickly whispered to the husband, told the boys I was going to the bathroom and sneakily grabbed two boxes, bought them, and stashed them in the trunk of the car. My first sneaky Santa purchase! Plus we managed to get out without him noticing they even had them so he still thinks they don’t exist yet! Score!
So we are definitely in the holiday spirits at our place.
